"Man's
Masterpiece" - Painted during the worship songs,
this was our first foray into interactive / experiential art . As
the worship band lead in songs about Christ's sacrificial love, the
artist painted a graphic, simple form of the crucifixion. When it
was completed, he invited all who were attending to come and sign their
names to it. "When we look around at all the beauty God created, we
must then come back and face what sin has done to it all, including
ourselves. This painting is a representation of OUR
masterpiece. But it is also where we become beautiful again.
Christ took our masterpiece, and carried away it's curse. We sign
it, acknowledging it was ours, but we sign it remembering that Jesus
took it on Himself." -click on the image to view it

"Embracing
the Cross" - Our second collaborative painting. The
artist again painted during the worship songs. It is an image of
Christ, embracing the cross as He heads toward Golgotha. When the
piece was completed, he left the main area of the visible cross
unpainted, and invited all attending to come forward and dip their
thumbs in brown paint, and press it to the canvas. This was to
demonstrate our identification with His death, and to acknowledge that
He carried away our sins. -click on the image to view it

"Passover
Lamb" - During the Burning House service, we
celebrate the Lord's Table, the communion. The Lord's Table was
birthed out of the Passover celebration of the Old Covenant. Jesus
was the fulfillment of all that it typified. During the worship,
the artist painted a picture of Christ on the cross, our Passover
Lamb. The painting was attached to a doorframe. When the
image was completed, each attendant was invited to come forward and dip
a paintbrush into a bowl of red paint, and mark the top and sides of the
frame, praying "Father forgive me, Jesus cleanse me, Holy Spirit
renew me." The great story of redemption as told through the
Passover is connected with our present life through this symbolic
demonstration. - click on the image to view it
